I started making viols in 1997 after learning first violin making in the Violing Making School in Bilbao Conservatory and then finished an HND on Early Fretted Instruments in the London Guildhall University

I make viols and 'related' instruments as violone, lirone and the renaissance vihuela de arco, early viols and violin/violas.

My workshop is in Eibar (North of Spain) and also work on modern instruments for the local musicians.

Viola da Gamba, violone, vihuela de arco...

Vihuela de arco is just the name given to the Viol in the Spanish speaking world. Viola da Gamba is been used since the revival of the "early music".

Vihuela de Arco da gaztelaniaz beti erabili izan den hitza Zango biola edo Viola da Gamba izendatzeko. Eta guk, nola deitu bihar dogu instrumentua, Zango biola,Euskaltzaindiak hobesten duen bezala? Edo Biguelea. Lazarragak deitzen zuen bezala?

Vihuela de Arco es el nombre que se ha utilizado siempre para nombrar el instrumento que ahora llamamos Viola da Gamba
